catalina + stars.
It was beautiful. And so solitary. I felt like an intruder.
I need some time on the mountains. I need to go somewhere that exists without me or anyone, and observe. Become ridiculously aware of how much we’re obsessed with being human.
Life is too complicated, and we’re all too alone.

CHINA
Why am I still here? GET ME HOME. :)
Still have some stuff to see. But i’m getting impatient for my return. !!
remembering how life is awesome.
As I took the double decker “special” 7 bus home this evening, and I watched the whole city bustle below me as the cool, wet air brushed through the upstairs compartment, I remembered how life can be beautiful. What a great day.

Reflection...
This blog was made with the purpose of familiarizing myself with different forms of online journalism. Essentially, I learned a couple of things:
1) Neither blogs reported news in a well-rounded manner.
I found the trend with these blogs was to either exaggerate certain points or completely leave out information that was not useful to either side’s argument. While Politico tends to...

Obama's Visit to China: Week of Nov. 16-22, 2009
This week, politics were afire with the usual health care squabbling, but the more interesting aspect of political commentary was concerning President Barack Obama’s East Asia tour this week. Specifically, his visit to China sparked debate and very different methods of reporting and commentary among political bloggers and newswriters alike.
The New York Times: “During Visit, Obama...
A Major Tea Party Foul- Week of November 1-7, 2009
This week, that being the first week of November 2009, found itself, amidst election politicking and a not-so-surprising Bloomberg victory, in the center of a highly contested health care debate. And with this debate came staunch disapproval almost unanimously from the Republican Party. This includes, yes, “tea party zanies”, as a wise man known as Frank Rich said in an opinion column...
Week of October 25-31: PUBLIC OPTION MADNESS
This week’s most pressing issue, apart from the whole Fox News Debacle, was probably the public option’s confirmed debut onto the senate floor. After months of debate and speculation, the public option has arrived—with the small caveat of an opt-out option for states that do not wish to be a part of the government plan. Let’s see how the media storm ensued: The New York...

Week of October 5, 2009: Obama, Nobel...
This week’s hottest political issue is undeniably Obama’s acquisition of the Nobel Peace Prize—there’s no question about it.
The news wire, however, took a varied and interesting set of angles on the issue, from downright scathing (politico) to completely neutral (TPM) to loftily timeless (Atlantic).
The general consensus is—well, there is no general consensus....
aggregating this week's politicking, one blog at a...
This is part of a weekly project I’ll be doing for the next few months. Here are the guidelines of the weekly posts:
Weekly posts will occur on Sunday, and will focus on one point of political interest during the week that got the most or most interesting response from the journalists/politicos alike.
The blog will compare three types of newsmedia that are commonly consumed on the...
